S. Kobe et T. Klotz, FRUSTRATION - HOW IT CAN BE MEASURED, Physical review. E, Statistical physics, plasmas, fluids, and related interdisciplinary topics, 52(5), 1995, pp. 5660-5663
A misfit parameter is used to characterize the degree of frustration o
f ordered and disordered systems. It measures the increase of the grou
nd-state energy due to frustration in comparison with that of a releva
nt reference state. The misfit parameter is calculated for various spi
n-glass models. It allows one to compare these models with each other.
The extension of this concept to other combinatorial optimization pro
blems with frustration, e.g., p-state Potts glasses, graph-partitionin
g problems, and coloring problems, is given.
