Abstract
The antioxidant enzymatic system in the ischemia/reperfusion induced b rain injury in rats after U-74389G administration was evaluated. Ische mia/reperfusion caused a decrease in the activities of superoxide dism utase and glutathione reductase, as well as of total and free sulfhydr yl groups, while thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances became elevat ed. Administration of U-74389G lead to restoring to normal values of a h above parameters. Protective effect of the drug in ischemia/reperfus ion induced brain injury has been suggested.
