PULSE RESPONSE OF ELECTROLUMINESCENCE IN POLY(3-ALKYLTHIOPHENE) MIXEDWITH FLUORESCENT DYE

Pulse response of electroluminescent (EL) diode utilizing poly(3-alkyl thiophene) mixed with fluorescent dye has been investigated. By mixing fluorescent dye with poly(3-alkylthiophene), the response time of EL emission became slow compared with that of undoped poly(3-alkylthiophe ne). The mechanism of the EL response in the fluorescent-dye-doped pol y(3-alkylthiophene) is discussed in terms of hopping transport of elec trons through biphenyly)-5-(4-tert-butylphenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole molec ules.
