Abstract
Effective cavity length method is introduced to vertical cavity surfac e emitting laser for characterizing some properties, including reflect ivity FWHM, mode wavelength and threshold gain. Some experiment result s are demonstrated, showing the agreement of theoretical analysis with experiment.
