Abstract
The pRb and p53 proteins have tumour suppressor functions and both are regulators of transcription. Their mechanisms of transcriptional regu lation are unrelated in many ways in contrast, it would appear, to the ir biological functions. This review highlights their biological conne ctions in the light of recent advances in understanding the mechanisms of pRb and p53 function.
