ng females. A variety of cardiovascular complications are described. T
hese include lengthening of the QT interval and other electrocardiogra
phic abnormalities, reduced left ventricular mass and impaired myocard
ial performance, mitral valve prolapse and sudden death. The incidence
of these abnormalities and their relation to outcome are discussed in
this article.
