Abstract
High nitrate concentration of grass was the apparent cause of the deat
h of two cows and of sickness in other cows in a dairy herd, A degree
of hunger occasioned by holding the cows in the yard for some hours fo
llowed by a probable intake of relatively large volumes of grass withi
n a short period or time was considered a significant contributory fac
tor.
