Abstract
The strong f(1)(1285)NN coupling is estimated from an effective vertex associated with the a(0) pi N triangle diagram. This predicts the cou pling between the nucleon and the strange quarkonium in the 1(++) none t to be close to the one known for the 1(--) nonet.
