The syndrome-nosological spectrum of subclinical mental disorders in l
onely outpatients (198) was analyzed in comparison with a group of lon
ely old subjects (112) identified in the course of epidemiological stu
dy of elderly population. It is established that mild depressive disor
ders occur more frequently in connection with a lonely-dweller, situat
ion that old people find themselves in. The expediency is recognized o
f setting-up district services of medicopsychological aid for the aged
to prevent mental disorders and perform psychological correction for
social dysadaptation of the elderly persons experiencing stressful lif
e events common for this age group.
