A NOVEL SOLAR COOKER FOR ANIMAL FEED

A novel solar cooker for boiling animal feed has been designed, develo ped and tested. The cooker is made of locally available material of no cost, e.g. clay, wheat husk and horse excreta. The only commercial ma terials required for its fabrication are glass covers and mild steel a bsorber plate. The cooker is capable of boiling 2 kg of animal feed pe r day and its efficiency is 22.6%. The payback period with respect to firewood is only 186 days which shows that its use is very economical, and it will be a boon for rural areas.
