Abstract
The title complex was prepared by the reaction of bis(8-quinolinolato- N-1,O-8)nickel(II) with 4-methylpyridine. The X-ray crystal structure of the complex showed it to have a slightly distorted octahedral confi guration, in which the central Ni atom is coordinated by two oxygen an d two nitrogen atoms from two 8-quinolinol ligands forming the equator ial plane and two apical 4-methylpyridine nitrogen atoms.
