Er. Taboada et al., PHOTODEGRADATION OF PIRIMICARB IN NATURAL-WATER AND IN DIFFERENT AQUEOUS-SOLUTIONS UNDER SIMULATED SUNLIGHT CONDITIONS, Fresenius environmental bulletin, 4(11), 1995, pp. 649-654
The kinetics of pirimicarb photodegradation followed a first-order equ
ation, in all studied solutions. Photolysis of pirimicarb was strongly
increased in the presence of acetone, while methanol did not have any
significant effect. The rate of degradation in the presence of natura
l river water was about 4.5 times slower than in distilled water. The
half-life of pirimicarb in presence of different amount of dissolved h
umic and fulvic acids was about 2-10 times longer than in distilled wa
ter. The persistence of pirimicarb under aerobic conditions was greate
r than under anaerobic conditions.
