In a previous article(1) we reported results on the distribution of F-
18 activity in the gas target. The present paper continues to report o
n experimental studies of physicochemical effects involved in the Ne-2
0(d, alpha)F-18 reaction, with the aim to improve the recovery of F-18
in both chemical forms i.e. Fe-18-F-2 and F-18-F- from the target, wi
thout adding fluorine carrier. The choice of optimum target constructi
on;on material is a very important factor for achieving a high extract
ion rate and high specific activity of the product. Recovery and desor
ption of the F-18-activity from the surfaces of various metal foils in
the liquid and gas phases have been investigated. This study is of in
terest from both the practical and theoretical point of view.
