Abstract
Interaction of 1,1,2,3,3-pentafluoro-1,5-hexadiene with Br-2: in a MeC OOH medium results in the product of selective bromination of the hydr ocarbon double bond, 5,6-dibromo-1,1,2,3,3-pentafluoro-1-hexene. Epoxi dation of the latter with H2O2 in an alkaline medium followed by debro mination afforded 5,6-epoxy-4,4,5,6,6-pentafluoro-1-hexene for the fir st time.
