Abstract
1-Unsubstituted 4,5-diphenyl-2,3-dihydro-2,3-pyrroledione interacts wi th ethoxycarbonyl-methylenetriphenylphosphorane regioselectively to gi ve 2-ethoxycarbonylmethyiene-2,3-dihydro-3-pyrrolone. The crystal and molecular structure of the latter was studied by X-ray analysis.
