CHARACTERIZATION OF VEGETABLE RESIDUES RESPONSIBLE FOR COASTAL POLLUTION - APPLICATION AS FERTILIZERS IN MEDITERRANEAN SOILS

A study has been carried out to examine the possibility of using algae and other vegetable residues occuring on the coasts of the Valencia R egion as fertilizers. The content in essential nutrients and oligoelem ents was determined, as well as other parameters of interest. The lack of homogeneity in their composition makes advisable the use of mixtur es of these species. Other considerations are also proposed aimed at t aking advantage of the content in nutrients of this type of residue.
