Abstract
We obtained echocardiograms and performed cardiac Doppler studies in 2 5 morbidly obese subjects before and after substantial weight loss to determine the effect of weight loss on left ventricular (LV) diastolic filling. Substantial weight loss produced improvement in LV diastolic tilling that was related to a weight loss-induced decrease in LV mass /height index loading conditions.
