ION-SELECTIVE ELECTRODES - ANALOGIES AND CONCLUSIONS

The author investigated the working mechanism of ion selective electro des. The contradictions of the theories deduced form so called analog phenomena were discussed in detail. Based on the experiments of his re search group he comes to the conclusion that only the surface (the act ive groups located there) is taking part in the potential determining reaction and the bulk of the electrode has no other role, than its res istance being important in the selection of the potential measuring in strument.
