A commercial preparation of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) p
urified from Saccharomyces cerevisiae was subjected to PAGE analysis u
nder both nondenaturing and denaturing conditions. The enzyme, identif
ied by both activity staining and anti-yeast G6PD antibody immunoblott
ing, was shown to contain carbohydrate using the highly specific perio
dated-digoxigenin antidigoxigenin method which is diagnostic for glyco
proteins. (C) 1995 Academic Press, Inc.
