Vv. Rotkin et Ra. Suris, MULTIPOLE EXCITATIONS OF 2 JOINT CONDUCTING SPHERES - APPLICATION TO C-119 MOLECULE, Solid state communications, 97(3), 1996, pp. 183-186
Model of coupled spherical shell quantum wells is applied to C-119 mol
ecule. In a frame of the model the frequencies of the collective excit
ation series are calculated. The lowermost excitation, which could be
detected by optical methods, is founded to have essentially dipolar ch
aracter. Two types of the coupled oscillations exist with a different
parity, which frequencies shifted up and down from C-60 molecule plasm
on frequency. For a dipole mode the two plasmon peaks with a gap about
3.5 eV have different dipole polarization. A transition to the usual
coupled plasmons in two metal planes is fulfilled.
