The steering system for synchronous turning of all four car wheels can
, with optimal selection of steering angle, improve car manoeuvrebilit
y at low speed and dynamic stability at high speed. Turning the rear w
heels in the opposite direction to the front wheels reduces the car tu
rning radius and improves car manoeuvrability at low speed. Turning th
e rear wheels in the same direction as the front wheels, partially or
completely compensates an unfavourable influence of the side slip caus
ed by tyre's distorsion and in this way prevents the oversteer which l
eads to non-stability. This research work is a contribution in researc
hing the influence of turning the rear car wheels on the manoeuvrabili
ty and dynamic stability.
