Rd. Hazlett, SIMULATION OF CAPILLARY-DOMINATED DISPLACEMENTS IN MICROTOMOGRAPHIC IMAGES OF RESERVOIR ROCKS, Transport in porous media, 20(1-2), 1995, pp. 21-35
Displacement simulation in realistic pore networks, such as those deri
ved from X-ray microtomography, is presented for the regime where capi
llarity controls fluid motions and spatial distributions. Complex disp
lacement sequences involving both imbibition and drainage are construc
ted to extract wettability indices. The percolation properties of pred
icted equilibrium phase distributions are analyzed. Equilibrium fluid
distributions are used to model transport properties for each phase.
