Br. Crisp et Jg. Barber, THE EFFECT OF LOCUS OF CONTROL ON THE ASSOCIATION BETWEEN RISK PERCEPTION AND SEXUAL RISK-TAKING, Personality and individual differences, 19(6), 1995, pp. 841-845
This paper examines the relationship between risk perception, sexual r
isk-taking and locus of control among injecting drug users (IDUs). Loc
us of control was found to mediate the relationship between perception
and behaviour, in that only IDUs with an internal locus of control ma
de moderately accurate assessments of their risk. Despite this, an int
ernal locus of control did not result in safer behaviours.
