Abstract
New data are presented on cestodes of the family Hymenolepididae isola ted from Gallinago gallinago L. in Slovakia over the years 1957-1970. These helminths have almost been unknown in the Carpathian region of c entral Europe. The species composition found includes: Aploparaksis b elopolskajae Bondarenko. 1988 A. brachyphallos (Krabbe, 1869); A. cras sirostris (Krabbe, 1869); A. filiformis Spassky, 1963?; *A. orientali s Spassky et Bobova, 1961; A. parafilum Gosowska, 1932 sensu Bondaren ko (in press); A. pseudofilum (Clerc. 1902) sensu Bondarenko (1990b); Aploparakis sp. Wardium paraclavicirrus Oschmarin 1963. The controve rsial taxonomy of A. brachyphallos, A. filiformis?, A. parafilum and A . pseudofilum is analyzed. New data from the literature and different size of cirri detected in these species call for their certain taxonom ic evaluation revision. The redescription of A. parafilum sensu Bondar enko (in press) presents new, unpublished data, considerably clarifyin g the identity of this species.
