Abstract
Synopsis includes 51 taxa belonging to Amabiliidae, Acoleidae, Catenot aeniiidae, Davaineidae and Hymenolepididae families. Data on hosts, lo calities and occurrence of cestodes from birds and mammals collected i n Slovakia since 1955 are given. Among cestodes examined, Dicranotaeni a coronula is the most frequent, biologically and economically importa nt parasite of poultry. Raillietina (R.) globirostris, Anatinella spin ulosa, Aploparaksis porzana, A. pseudofurcigera, Dicranotaenia synsacc ulato and D. zmorayi, specific parasites of nowadays infrequent and en dangered avian host species, are very scarce and rare cestode species. Dicranotaenia minisacculata Macko, 1988, D. stenosacculata Macko, 198 8, D. synsacculata Macko, 1988, D. stenos zmorayi (Macko, 1970) and Di orchis nitidohamulus Hovorka et Macko, 1972 are new species described from the territory of Slovakia.
