Abstract
A new mobile length measuring instrument based on the differential Dop pler technique is presented. The instrument is equipped with a diode l aser and serves for the non-contact length measurement of moving goods in the form of breadths, bands and cables. The setup of the instrumen t is described and the results of various metrological investigations are discussed.
