N. Nakao et al., AUTOMATED EQUIPMENT TO ASSEMBLE CONNECTORS FOR TELECOMMUNICATION CABLES, IEEE transactions on industrial electronics, 41(1), 1994, pp. 40-44
Automated equipment to assemble connectors for telecommunication cable
s is proposed. The equipment can pick up a conductor from a set of twi
sted conductors, identify the conductor number by the color of its ins
ulation, and arrange it on a connector. Experiments on test versions d
etermine and evaluate the basic requirements and confirm the process c
ontrol method for lines. Based on experimental results, estimations, a
nd human interface, the equipment is designed and a prototype is manuf
actured. The use of this equipment is expected to reduce assembly time
and eliminate human error.
