A. Zago et al., CLONING, SEQUENCING, AND EXPRESSION IN ESCHERICHIA-COLI OF THE BACILLUS-PUMILUS GENE FOR FERULIC ACID DECARBOXYLASE, Applied and environmental microbiology, 61(12), 1995, pp. 4484-4486
The Bacillus pumilus gene encoding a ferulic acid decarboxylase (fdc)
was identified and isolated by its ability to promote ferulic acid dec
arboxylation in Escherichia coli DH5 alpha. The DNA sequence of the fd
c gene was determined, and the recombinant enzyme produced in E. coli
was purified and characterized.
