Abstract
The morphological characteristics of Neohodgsonia mirabilis are reasse ssed and illustrated with recent, living specimens. Chromosome number, habitat and distribution are outlined. The monotypic genus Neohodgson ia is confirmed to belong to the family Marchantiaceae.
