A method for evaluating scalloping in deep-drawn aluminum alloys is de
scribed. The height and location of scallops formed in cylinders deep-
drawn from aluminum strip are determined by means of a linear regressi
on equation relating the scallop height to the in-plane anisotropy par
ameter. This parameter is calculated within the Taylor plastic strain
model using the aluminum strip texture defined in terms of the XRF coe
fficients. The method has been tested in evaluating scalloping in 3004
aluminum alloy.
