Abstract
Isolation and structural elucidation of loba-8,10,15-triene-13,17,18-t riol-17,18-diacetate (2) and (17E)-(23R,24R)-23,24-dimethylcholesta-5, 17(20)-diene-3 beta,25-diol (4) in addition to known compounds, 15-no r-13-keto-beta-elemene (1), loba-8,10,13(15)-triene-17,18-diol (3), lo bosterol (5), deacetyllobosterol (6), (24S)-24-methylcholestane-3 beta ,5 alpha,6 beta,25-tetraol-25-monoacetate (7) and (24S)-24-methylchole stane-3-beta 5 alpha,6 beta, 25-tetraol (8) from a soft coral of Lobop hytum species of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands are reported. Structu ral elucidation of the compounds is based on the interpretation of H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR and mass spectral data.
