Abstract
Recent results of research work on colour-difference evaluation are re viewed in reports of two CIE Technical Committees, however, a global s olution of the problem is still lacking. Therefore, guidelines for pla nning new research work are included in those reports. Here, these gui delines are explained and extended to stimulate new studies in a coord inated way, which could improve modeling of colour-difference evaluati ons for industrial applications.
