Gp. Kurbatkin, THE TRANSITION SEASONS IN CLIMATE DYNAMIC S, Izvestia Akademii nauk. Rossijskaa akademia nauk. Fizika atmosfery iokeana, 30(2), 1994, pp. 133-144
The modeling experiments are described with prescribed seasurface temp
erature distributions of the two different transition seasons (autumn,
spring) and abnormal (weather) conditions tuned to climatic changes.
Special attention is paid to the analysis of the zonal ten days mean p
recipitations over the continents and oceans, large-scale and convecti
ve precipitations and snow falls. The suggestion is made that the autu
mn seasonal cooling of the atmosphere may develop within the regime of
the ''hemispherical cooling'' characterized by low and high latitude
interactions as well as within the anomalous regime without such inter
actions due to specific hemispherical (meridional) distribution of the
sea-surface temperature. The spring seasonal warming of the atmospher
e may develop within the regime of the ''hemispheric warming'' without
the low and high latitude interactions as well as within the regime w
ith such interactions.
