M. Zacharias et J. Blasing, PREPARATION OF A-GEOX-H ALLOYS - VIBRATIONAL, OPTICAL, AND STRUCTURAL-PROPERTIES, Physical review. B, Condensed matter, 52(19), 1995, pp. 14018-14024
The preparation and systematic investigation of amorphous GeOx:H alloy
s are described. Radial distribution fuctions show the broadening of t
he distances of the nearest neighbors and the restructuring of the thi
rd- and fourth-neighbor sites with increasing oxygen content. The stat
ic refractive index (3.7-2.4) and the Tauc gap (1.03-1.37) varied sign
ificantly with the preparation conditions, e.g., the oxygen content. T
he variation of the static refractive index from 2.05 to 2.6 with risi
ng substrate temperature from 100 to 225 degrees C reflects density al
terations of around 8%. The assignment of the infrared modes related t
o germanium, oxygen, and hydrogen is summarized. The IR spectra displa
y modes that can be characterized as mainly oxygen modes. Ge-H bond co
nfigurations are not detectable. The peak position of the Ge-O-Ge stre
tching band shifts from 750 to 810 cm(-1) with increasing oxygen conte
nt. The. integrated absorption is analyzed in dependence on the oxygen
content.
