Autopsy findings are described of an atypical aneurysm of a large cere
bral artery in a young child. The lesion is believed to have been an i
nfective (mycotic) aneurysm. Antibiotics were administered at the time
of the first Leakage which had been thought to be due to a sinus infe
ction. The sac wall exhibited a subacute pleomorphic inflammatory cell
response indicative of a resolving infective aneurysm, an appearance
that is likely to be encountered more often in the future.
