Abstract
Based on the suspended sediment transport equation and transport capac ity formula under the action of tidal currents and wind waves, a horiz ontal 2-D mathematical model of suspended sediment transport for estua ries and coastal regions is established. The verification of calculati ons shows that the sediment concentration distribution and sea bed def ormation in the estuaries and coastal regions cm be successfully simul ated Therefore, a new method for studying and solving the sediment pro blems in the estuarine and coastal engineering is presented.
