Abstract
The effect of oxidation temperature and duration, cyclic oxidation-red uction regimes, and vacuum treatment of previously oxidized porous mat erial on the kinetics of capillary transport against the force of grav ity is studied. It is shown that oxidation markedly reduces gas permea bility due to development of their free surface and an increase in fri ctional losses with gas flow. Vacuum treatment of preoxidized structur es reduces the rate of impregnation as a result of deterioration in co pper wetting by water.
