The authors report the case of a 68-year-old woman who suffered from a
n acute massive pulmonary embolism. The common electrocardiopraphic fi
ndings were not observed, but rather an extreme QT prolongation. The p
atient has been successfully treated by thrombolysis. After a few days
, the electrocardiogram normalized. These electrocardiographic changes
have not yet been described in the medical literature.
