This case-report is about an eight-year old girl with gingivafibromato
sis and hypertrichosis. At the age of three months the gingivafibromat
osis became evident for the first time and its course of development h
as been progressive ever since that time. Gingival pseudopockets resul

ent until the age of one. No further anomalies were detected and the g
irl's psychomotor development was also normal. Once the diagnosis was
made an external gingivectomy was performed, orthodontic therapy is pl
anned. The importance of a specific therapy is pointed out so as to re
duce, inter alia, the syndrome's negative psychological effects on the
patients to a minimum.
