A 63-year-old patient presented with an arteriosclerotic aneurysm of t
he tibiofibular trunk. The clinical symptoms included microembolism in
to the distal lower leg (pedal arteries). The surgical treatment consi
sted of a venous interponate between the tibiofibular trunk and the po
sterior tibial artery. Due to the high complication rate by microembol
i, surgical treatment of peripheral aneurysms by a venous bypass is in
dicated.
