S. Deng et al., STUDY OF VOLATILE HYDROCARBON EMISSION CONTROL BY AN AROMATIC POLY(ETHER IMIDE) MEMBRANE, Industrial & engineering chemistry research, 34(12), 1995, pp. 4494-4500
The separation of the mixtures of hydrocarbon vapors from nitrogen was
studied by using an asymmetric aromatic poly(ether imide) membrane pr
epared by the phase inversion technique. The effect of the presence of
water in the feed stream on the separation of hydrocarbon vapors from
nitrogen and on the separation of gasoline vapor from nitrogen was al
so investigated. It was found that the asymmetric membrane is effectiv
e for the separation of hydrocarbon vapors from nitrogen without silic
one rubber coating. It was also found that the permeability of water i
s far greater than those of hydrocarbon vapors.
