Abstract
Specific seasons of occupation are inferred for some types of early Pr e-Dorset structures at Back Bay, Prince of Wales Island, based on stru cture type, location, and faunal content. It is suggested that large, well-defined tent rings represent warm season skin tents, while smalle r more ephemeral features represent cold season snow-walled structures . Based on the multiseason use of this single locality, we suggest a s ettlement pattern of short-term residential stability with periodic mo ves to new locations.
