B. Messerschmidt et al., COLORLESS GRADIENT-INDEX CYLINDRICAL LENSES WITH HIGH NUMERICAL APERTURES PRODUCED BY SILVER-ION EXCHANGE, Applied optics, 34(34), 1995, pp. 7825-7830
Colorless gradient-index cylindrical lenses with high numerical apertu
res in slabs 200-1000 mu m thick have been fabricated by silver-sodium
ion exchange in a specially developed glass. The lenses with numerica
l apertures of 0.6 are characterized by index profiles and by spherica
l and chromatic aberration. On-axis focusing properties and the applic
ation to the collimation of high-power laser diode bars are discussed.
