Abstract
The electronic charge densities of copper halides CuX (X = Cl, Br, I) are calculated using the nonlocal empirical pseudopotential method in order to obtain their ionicities. The resulting ionicity values are co mpared with those of the Phillips scale. A favorable agreement is foun d.
