Abstract
Expressions for the two thermodynamic parameters deciding the glass fo rming ability, namely, T-K and T-o have been derived for pure metals b ased on the models available for the free energy of the undercooled me tals. The criteria for the existence of the above two parameters have been worked out and have been checked in the case of transition and no ble metals.
