Abstract
The study was undertaken to estimate serum zinc and copper in 16 patie nts with asthma. The results were compared with the 107 normal healthy individuals. The mean (+/- SD) serum zinc levels in controls and asth ma patients were 110.98 +/- 16.54 and 84.25 +/- 13.86 mu g/dl, respect ively. They were significantly lower in patients with asthma as compar ed to controls. Serum copper levels in controls and in patients with a sthma were 112.57 +/- 30.55 and 108.25 +/- 24.61. No significant diffe rence could be obtained between controls and asthma patients.
