Abstract
In the United States, colorectal cancers the second most common cause
of cancer mortality after lung cancer. However, incidence and mortalit
y rates have been falling, reflecting improvements in primary preventi
on, early detection, and treatment. This article reviews the major adv
ances in the understanding and management of colorectal cancer.
