Ak. Todorova et F. Juttner, NOSTOCYCLAMIDE - A NEW MACROCYCLIC, THIAZOLE-CONTAINING ALLELOCHEMICAL FROM NOSTOC-SP-31 (CYANOBACTERIA), Journal of organic chemistry, 60(24), 1995, pp. 7891-7895
A new anticyanobacterial and antialgal secondary metabolite, nostocycl
amide, that is also toxic against Brachionus calyciflorus has been iso
lated as a major component from the dinitrogen-fixing cyanobacterium N
ostoc 31. Extensive H-1 and C-13 NMR and X-ray analyses proved this co
mpound to be a cyclic peptide which has not previously been observed i
n other microorganisms. The planar macrocyclic structure exhibits subs
tituted oxazole and thiazole residues that are linked by three peptide
units.
