Starting from the nonlinear equations describing intense laser plasma
interaction, without the supposition of tenuous plasma, weak relativit
y and a priori assumption phi(f) much less than 1+phi(s), slowly varyi
ng part and rapidly varying part of scalar potential phi, and ratio of
third harmonic and pumping laser a(3)/a(1) in plasmas pumped by inten
se laser (greater than or equal to 10(18) W/cm(2)) are obtained. Plasm
a and laser parameters suitable to generation of harmonic are discusse
