Problems associated with the quantitative analysis of compounds by inf
rared spectrometry without the use of standard materials, but on the b
asis of calculation of absorption bands and absolute intensities by pr
esent-day theoretical methods are discussed. The feasibility of such a
nalyses with an admissible high accuracy is shown with some actual exa
mples. A method for the quantitative analysis of mixtures by a single
measurement and with additional information on tentative concentration
s of components was suggested.
